Porn Literacy 101
A Sex Education Class for Adults
A Sex Education Class for Adults
In the 21st century, pornography is the lightning rod where sexuality, technology, and morality all collide. As a result, it is a confusing subject for most. There is and has been a profound erotophobia in our society for generations. Without critical thinking and additional information, people can default to sex-negative, pop culture-informed, or traditional gendered stereotypes about sex and pornography. In this 75 minute course, viewers will get a primer on porn literacy - a modern way to conceptualize and relate to pornography without pathologizing or shaming. Viewers may also find their previous assumptions challenged and their biases identified.
While this course is available to everyone, the intended audience are mental health professionals, clients of psychotherapy, partners of clients in psychotherapy, and porn consumers. This course assumes a certain degree of psychological understanding of self.
